Subject: Training request: AI Engineer Foundations ($497)
Hi [Manager's name],
I'd like to use $497 from our learning budget for AI Engineer Foundations, a one-day live workshop from Parsity on Saturday, January 16, 2027.
In one day I'll build a working AI application with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), an agent that uses tools, a human approval step, evals and observability. These are the patterns behind most production AI features, and I want to apply them to [a project or problem on our team].
What we get out of it:
- Working code, not slides. I leave with a working app and an architecture I can bring back to our codebase.
- 30 days of follow-up. Weekly office hours and a private Slack to adapt what I build to our stack.
- No time away from work. The workshop runs on a Saturday and is recorded.
- Low risk. If I don't leave with a working app, the instructor fixes it with me 1:1 or refunds the full cost.
Within two weeks of the workshop, I'll share a short write-up of what I built and a proposal for how we could use it on [the project above].
Parsity is backed by a U.S. Department of Labor grant and is part of Anthropic's Claude Partner Network. The instructor, Brian Jenney, has built and led production RAG and agent systems at multiple companies, including search products used by Fortune 100 customers and major record labels.
Details are here: https://www.parsity.io/ai-engineer-day
Can I go ahead and register?
Thanks,
[Your name]
What the workshop covers
One live Saturday, 9am to 6pm PT, online and recorded. Capped at 20 developers so every build gets reviewed live.
- A pipeline that loads data into a vector store, plus how semantic search works under the hood
- An agent that searches that vector store and a SQL database on its own
- A chat interface where users can take actions, with a human approving them first
- Evals and observability, so you know what breaks, when and why
- A plan for applying it to a project at your company
Why this matters for the team
One person comes back able to scope, build and evaluate AI features, and can walk the rest of the team through the tradeoffs: which retrieval approach, which model, what it costs per request, and what happens when it's wrong.
About the instructor
Brian Jenney has 12+ years in software engineering, from senior engineer to engineering manager. He was a founding engineer on AI search products for Fortune 100 customers and built the first RAG pipelines for an influencer search tool used by Universal and Roc Nation. He writes for IEEE Spectrum and hosts the Develop Yourself podcast.
